February missing man’s car found in Trinity River in Dallas. Recovery efforts to remove the vehicle were successful.
After a lengthy and exhaustive search, the North Richland Hills Criminal Investigations Division was alerted by the Texas Department of Public Safety that on August 7, 2018, their dive teams had positively located and identified the vehicle of missing NRH resident, James Booth. The vehicle was located in Dallas, downstream from the area where our department initially received reports of a white sedan in the river on February 21, 2018.
On August 8, 2018 recovery efforts continued, as crews worked to remove the sedan from the river. Once the vehicle was removed, remains were found inside.
On August 9, 2018 the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office positively identified the remains as that of Mr. James Booth. Per our investigators, there is no foul play suspected in the case.
Our department extends our heartfelt condolences to Mr. Booth’s family during this process. It remains our goal to at least provide them with a degree of closure, with the hope that it may be helpful to their grieving process.
